Ephemeral

September 2026 Completed

Ephemeral is a component-led system for temporary interfaces shaped by a person’s current need. The showcase includes interactive component specimens, color and type foundations, geometry rules, and downloadable design tokens.

Try the interactive study at /design/ephemeral/. Daybook changes with a fictional schedule: agendas and reviews before meetings, a meeting workspace, follow-ups and actions, afternoon outreach, then reading and reflection. Compare it with a fixed calendar, choose a view explicitly, or combine compatible needs.

Below the app, System One exposes its sample source facts, timing and work signals, habit assumptions, weighted scores, and normalized percentage shares. Adjust the weights and inspect the calculation. The percentages illustrate rules; they are not calibrated predictions.

Everything uses authored data and deterministic JavaScript. No model inference, live calendar, calls, messages, or tracking is involved. Edits last for the current page visit, including after the temporary view is dismissed.
